OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vote will be taken to elect a North Ward Councillor from the following
duly nominated candidates:

Notice – Online Candidate Disclosure of Offences
As required by
subsection 42(1) of The Municipal
Councils and School Boards Elections Act, all candidates’ nomination papers
must disclose any offences that they have pleaded guilty to, or been found

The
voting place will be open for voting on Tuesday, the 12th day of September
2023 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.at the following location:

IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE
BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE. A person may be
required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example
– driver’s license) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.
ADVANCE
VOTING
For
the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have
reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their
proper voting place on election day, advance voting opportunities will be
available as follows:

TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE
A voter who is unable to go
in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person or in
writing to the senior election official at 106 Fourth Street, Wawanesa, Mb. R0K
2G0 or at cao@oakland-wawanesa.ca
If applying in person, a
voter may apply Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding Statutory
Holidays, between August 15th and September 9th. If applying by mail or email, an application
received 12 or more days before the election will be delivered by ordinary
mail. If the application is received
less than 12 days before the election, the voter may be required to make
alternative arrangements. Please contact

PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATE FOR MUNICIPAL BY-ELECTION
Municipality of
Oakland-Wawanesa
Prospective
municipal by-election candidates must register with the Senior Election
Official (SEO) during the registration period before they may begin to accept
contributions, incur expenses, fundraise or borrow money for their
campaign.
NOTICE
IS HEREBY GIVEN that candidate registrations will be received for the office of
Ward 2 Councillor between July 10 and August 7, 2023 at the Municipality of Oakland-Wawanesa
office, 106 Fourth Street, Wawanesa, Manitoba during the regular hours of
business, excluding Statutory Holidays.

NOTICE
OF NOMINATIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVENthat the Nomination Period is August 1 to August 7, 2023 during regular business hours, excluding Statutory Holidays. That means that on August 1, 2, 3 and 4, 2023 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Wawanesa Municipal Office, 106 Fourth Street, Wawanesa, Manitoba, I will receive nominations for the office of Ward 2 Councillor of the aforesaid Local Authority.
Due to the August 7thStatutory Holiday, the nomination deadline is Friday, August 4, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. Nominations cannot be accepted after this day.
All nominations shall be made in writing and shall be signed by at least twenty-five voters, or NOT less than 1% of the voters (whichever is the lesser) of the authority or ward (as the case may be), but in all cases by at least two voters. Each nomination shall also be accompanied by the candidate’s declaration of qualification.
Nominations may be filed in person at the above location, on the dates and hours specified, by a candidate or his/her agent. Nomination papers will not be accepted by fax. To obtain a nomination paper, and/or candidate’s declaration of qualification, contact the SEO at the telephone number listed below.
Nomination papers not accompanied by the required documents and not properly filed shall be rejected.
Nomination Papers are available for public viewing at the Municipal Office located at 106 Fourth street Wawanesa during regular business hours, being 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday- Friday (Excluding Statutory Holidays).
